The ideal protocol for post-operative care is a drainage massage at least every second day for the first two weeks (3x appts per week for 2 weeks, followed by two sessions per week for the following four weeks (2x appts per week for another 4 weeks). Other modalities like ultrasound, LED light, vacuum, wood and radio frequency therapies may be utilised in-clinic before your 6 or 8 week follow-up appointment with your Dr.
Some clients, especially those with liposuction to more than six areas or those having a significant amount of fat removed, should continue having weekly sessions until 12 weeks post-op to prevent the formation of disfiguring scar tissue.
