EMSculpt is a non-invasive body sculpting treatment that uses high-intensity electromagnetic waves to stimulate muscle contractions (more substantial than any voluntary movement can achieve). This technology has recently gained popularity as a non-invasive body sculpting and toning treatment. Still, it is the perfect additional modality after previous abdominal liposuction. EMS can significantly enhance the aesthetic results of the surgery by providing additional muscle definition and toning.
EMSculpt can be used on various body parts, including the abdomen, buttocks, arms and thighs. Anywhere you have had liposuction, the amount of subcutaneous fat in that area will be minimal, so the results of the EMS machine will be more obvious aesthetically, and results will be seen quicker than those who have not had liposuction/minimal subcutaneous fat in the treatment area.
Usually 8-12 weeks post-op.
Your surgeon can advise you on the appropriate time to begin EMS treatment based on your recovery process. Usually 8-12 weeks post-op.
The electromagnetic waves used in EMSculpt stimulate muscle contractions at a much higher intensity than can be achieved through exercise. These contractions help to build muscle mass and increase muscle tone and definition. When you exercise, you are stressing and tearing your muscles. They become thicker and stronger as they heal and repair from a workout. This is a natural process of your body responding to physical demands.
EmSculpt works on the same principle but can work far more muscles at once, to a greater extent and faster than any standard exercise could achieve. Muscle gain occurs as your body responds to the extreme stimulation of HIFEM energy and the resulting contractions of the muscle tissue, just as it would after a regular workout.
The supramaximal contractions of muscles in the target area trigger a metabolic response in your body called supramaximal lipolysis. This reaction breaks down fat cells into glycerol and free fatty acids and reduces the volume of fatty tissue your body stores.
Most fat cells destroyed in this process are close to the stimulated muscles. You won't burn fat in other areas of your body, but you will reduce fat in the target area where EMS is applied.
Abdominal liposuction is a procedure that removes excess fat from the abdomen, but it does not address the underlying muscles. EMSculpt can help enhance the results of abdominal liposuction by providing additional muscle definition and toning. This can help create a more sculpted, toned, and defined abdominal area.
The number of EMSculpt treatments needed to achieve optimal results may vary depending on individual factors such as age, body type, and the desired outcome. Typically, a series of 6-10 total treatments spaced two to three days apart is recommended. Maintenance treatments may also be necessary to maintain the results achieved.
